Claire specializes in environmental law, French and EU regulatory law, business and commercial law. She acts both as advisor and litigator.

Claire assist mainly leading French and foreign industrial groups operating in wide range of business sectors (e.g. chemicals, agrochemicals, manufacturing industry, energy, etc.) on all issues that may arise in connection with the enforcement of applicable French and EU legislation, including, but not limited to, with respect to the classification, packaging and labelling of products, risk assessment, compliance as well as on criminal and environmental liability related issues.

Claire also defends businesses in commercial disputes concerning in particular the breach of established business relationships and practices that restrict competition.

Selected Operation Summary

  • Advised a world leading manufacturer of chemical products on the applicable requirements with respect to the classification, labelling and data safety sheet for its phytopharmaceutical products and to market authorizations for such products
  • Assisted one of the world’s leading tire manufacturers in its discussions with the French administrative authorities in relation to the discontinuation of operations at a site subject to the legislation governing so-called classified facilities for the protection of the environment
  • Participated in the transposition into French law of Directive 2005/36/EC on the recognition of professional qualifications on behalf of the French Health Ministry
  • Assisted an Italian company in the framework of a dispute for unfair competition and diversion of clientele
  • Followed-up legislative procedures in the European Parliament (pharmaceutical package; biocide Regulation)
  • Assisted and defended a corporation in connection with a dispute for sudden termination of an established business relationship
  • Assisted an American manufacturing company in the framework of disputes in relation to the free movement of goods and product-related regulations
  • Defended a global leading manufacturer of plastic films in a litigation concerning the pollution of a river
  • Counseled an American manufacturer of food supplements planning to launch its products on the French market
  • Assisted a foreign producer of chemicals in its relationship with the Regional Directorates for Environment, Development and Housing following an on-site investigation on the enforcement of REACH and PIC Regulations
  • Provided legal advice on EU regulations applicable to sun tanning beds
  • Defended a French company in arbitration proceedings concerning the enforcement of asset/liability warranties granted in connection with the purchase of equity securities
  • Assisted a company specialized in the manufacture of electrical control equipment in a dispute with its supplier and negotiated the out-of-court settlement
  • Counselled the world’s leading chemical company on the civil and criminal liability of manufacturers of molecules incorporated into seeds and related herbicides
  • Advised a leading manufacturer of plastic films in relation to its obligations under applicable antitrust legislation
