France adopts a new law on sexual harassment

As mentioned in our May 2012 e-newsletter, the French Constitutional Council, following an application for a preliminary ruling on the issue of constitutionality filed by André Soulier in relation to the application of Article 222-33 of the French Criminal Code that punishes sexual harassment, repealed said Article on May 4, 2012.

In a decision dated July 12, 2012 , the First Civil Chamber of the Cour de Cassation (French Supreme Court) held that the Google Suggest tool, that guides Internet users to sites proposing the illegal downloading of works protected by copyright, “provided the means to infringe copyright and related rights”.
